Summer Institute of Church Music, East and West July 3-7, 2022
Online and Whitby. We are spreading the word with updated information about the Summer Institute of Church Music. The SICM Board made the decision to have the program completely online again this summer, because of lingering concerns about COVID. The total price for online registration is $300 and includes organ sessions by Sarah Svendsen and choral sessions by Mark Sirett, as well as very timely theme sessions on coping with the pandemic and its aftermath. This year the Institute has a Western campus in Edmonton as well as the Eastern campus in Whitby. The online program, by Zoom, includes faculty from both East and West. The only “live” program in Whitby (and Edmonton) is the evening chorister program that always draws choristers from local area choirs to sing under the direction of an expert conductor. The price of the online registration includes access to all the music for the East and West chorister programs and the opportunity to sing along in the chorister sessions via YouTube. For more information, visit the Institute’s website at www.sicm.ca.
